Case[]

History: One of the most bizarre, yet most underpublicized near-catastrophic events in recorded history occurred in rural Russia over 100 years ago. In the early morning of June 30th, 1908 at 7:14 AM local time, an incredibly powerful explosion, possibly cosmic in nature, occurred near the Podkamennaya Tunguska River in modern Krasnoyarsk Kray, Russia. A strange object, dozens of meters across, hurtled towards the Earth at hypersonic speeds. The object, believed to be a piece of a comet or asteroid, suddenly exploded in mid-air, just a few thousand meters above the Earth's surface. While there is no visible marking of the object actually colliding with the Earth's surface, there are still telltale signs of a large impact - many fallen trees in the immediate area, and several witnesses claiming to have heard loud claps of thunder and a bright light. Some scientists have calculated that the noise level near point of impact could have reached an inconceivable 300 decibels - easily loud enough to kill a person. Fortunately, the impact occurred in such a sparsely populated area, though we are left wondering - what kind of destruction this explosion may have caused nearer a large city? Other questions are, if this is cosmic in origin, was it a comet, an asteroid chunk, or perhaps even a UFO?
Background: None
Investigations: Leonid Kulik, Yevgeny Krinov, Kirill Florensky, Nikolai Vladimirovich Vasiliev and Wilhelm Fast have been the leading researchers of this case. One of the most convincing arguments was that the flash was a tremendous discharge of AC Energy created by noted scientist Nicola Tesla trying to impress Tenzing Norkay at the North Pole, but that his specifications over shot his mark and hit Tunguska, but this is yet to be proven.
