Details: Lt. Ernest Cody and Ensign Charles Adams were on routine manuvers on their L-8 Blimp near the Farallon Islands when they vanished on August 16, 1942. Their blimp was soon noticed by several planes, ships and crafts in the area drifting in shore and finally crashing to Earth on a street in Daly City near San Francisco. Her helium bag was leaking, but the two men on board were missing and no one saw them drop from the craft. The blimp was soon named the "Ghost Blimp" because of how the men vanished without any explanation. Decades later, the blimp was sold and repaired to be used as a Goodyear Blimp. Although several theories have been brought up to explain what to the two men, to this day their case remains shrouded in mystery.
