He tricked a prison dentist into escorting him through the gates. He then caught a cab to a nearby town and drove off with a woman in a car with Florida license plates. He was serving sixty years in prison for several bank robberies that he committed in South Florida between 1983 and 1985. Since his escape, authorities have connected him to at least three more bank robberies in Georgia, Florida, and Michigan. In those ones, he took hostages, used handguns, and made bomb threats. He is on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list. His wife Donna is believed to be travelling with him.
