Case
Details: Kristin Smart was a student at Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo University (Cal Poly SLO)when she vanished. Smart had attended a campus party on May 25th, 1996 and left the bash a little drunk. Since she was visibly intoxicated she was walked out of the party by two friends. On the walk back to her dorm, Kristin and her two friends were stopped by an acquaintance and another student named Paul Flores. Flores told the two friends that he'd walk Smart back to her room and that they could leave if they wanted to. The two friends obliged, said goodbye to a tipsy Smart and Paul Flores and left; Flores walked Smart back to her dorm.
It is unknown what happened to Smart after Flores walked her back to her dorm room. Some speculate he is involved in her disappearance.
Paul Flores
Suspects: Police believe that Paul may have been involved in her disappearance since he was the last person to see her alive. It has also been noted that Scott Peterson, the man who murdered his pregnant wife, Laci, both attended Cal-Poly and were seniors around the time of Kristin's disappearance. Peterson denies involvement in the Kristin Smart case.

Results: Unresolved. April Gregory's boyfriend, Terrence Evans, was eventually convicted of her murder. Police believe that the similarities between the two cases were just coincidences. Kristin, however, has never been found and her case remains unsolved. Police still believe that Paul was involved in her disappearance.
