Details: John Lutter is a flight engineer for United Airlines. He is also known by the authorities for having at least fifteen children between six wives in cities on his airline routes. His fraudulent lifestyle started falling apart when his wife, Caroline, called John to let him know that his son, Johnathan, had a hernia. To her surprise, several other women had been calling and asking for him. Over time, the women began comparing notes, and later Caroline got a call from John claiming to have been in a Cuban prison. He vanished on her afterward, and after losing his job with the airline, he vanished completely.

Results: Unresolved. Eventually, John Lutter was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport, returned to Seattle and convicted of bigamy. He was released after serving 90 days because none of his wives could be located. Conflicting reports are circulating over whether Lutter is still wanted for any crimes.
In 2006, Lutter showed up at the home of one of his wives in Sacramento, California looking to make amends to the mother to four of his children.
