Details: James Dyess, who had been convicted of burglary, escaped, with an accomplice, from police custody on April 25, 1986 before a prison bus could take him to the Mississippi State Penitentiary where he was to begin a 7 year sentence. The next day, he and his accomplice broke into a trailer looking for weapons and killed both the owner and a friend with one of his own guns. He was added to the FBI's Ten Most Wanted List several weeks later.

Results: Captured. James Dyess was arrested without incident on March 16, 1988 in Los Angeles, California during a routine traffic stop. He was sentenced to life in prison for the murders, where he remains.
