Real Name: Unrevealed
Aliases: Grandpa Bandit
Wanted For: Armed Robbery
Missing Since: September 1991
Details: An elderly man went into a Las Vegas bank claiming that he needed a second mortage on his home. The man returned 15 minutes later and pulled out a gun and a "bomb". He had the teller summon her boss, then the man had both employees affix two "bombs" to their wrists. Finally, the robber ordered the bank manager to unsecure the vault and empty all the money. The man left soon afterward, and police determined both bombs were fakes. Both the bank manager and the teller noted two unique factors to this robbery; that this robbery took well over ten minutes, whereas most bank robbers wish to make their crime as quickly as possible in order to make a clean getaway. Also, not once did the robber raise his voice to either employee; keeping an even-keeled tone of voice throughout the entire time. Most bank robbers are excited, nervous, jumpy, or a combination of all emotions, and often shout or threaten bank employees while the crime is in progress.
Extra Notes: The case was featured as a part of the May 19, 1993 episode.
Results: Wanted. Due to the passage of time and the robber's superannuated appearance, it is assumed that the "Grandpa Bandit" is now deceased.
