Details: In 1991, Emma Figueroa used a version of the "Pigeon Drop" to defraud Clisedia Gonzalez, a New York social worker. The scam is also known as a Spanish Lotto Scam; Emma purchased a lottery ticket with winning numbers from a previous drawing that had been altered the date to produce what appeared to be a winning ticket. She and an accomplice then used this ticket to convince Clisedia to give her $3,500 in good faith money to hold while Clisedia held onto the worthless ticket.
Extra Notes: This case first aired on the December 11, 1991 episode. It also featured a roll call of other Spanish Lotto practitioners, including Luis Herrera, Pedro Pumajero, Jose Rubio, Eduwigis Escalante and Juan Carlos Pereira.
