Case
Details: David Stone was a succesful stock market analyst who was deep into the New Age movement as he sought spiritual guidance. According tp deputy sheriff Bill Cavaliere, the investigating officer, on Halloween of 1988, Stone walked into the desert, and was seen several times that day claiming that he was looking for the "Beast" before vanishing in the desert. His car was found abandoned along Highway 80 five days later. David left several mysterious clues after he vanished relating to the New Age movement. First, David had left his car near pyramid-shaped mountains, and pyramids were important symbols in the movement. As a search began for David, his trail headed northwest from his car, and searchers then found a pyramid of rocks surrounded by a triangle. On the next day of searching, another pyramid was found, and next to it was David's watch. Three miles to the north, searchers found a Fibonacci Sequence, used by Stock Market Analysts, written in the sand. However, instead of 21 ending the sequence, 18 did. Some believe that David may have been signaling for help. Bloodhounds tracked his scent to Highway 80, 13 miles north of where his car was found. The Stones found a strange business card in David's car, along with an even stranger note that read, "They think the WORD is in the safe. Six knives in Rob's room. Yous buys your tea and yous take your chances Halloween." Halloween just happened to be the day that David vanished. To this day, nobody knows what happened to David or why he acted so strangely before he disappeared.

Results: Unresolved. In February 1992, David Stone's remains were found in the desert by two hikers, and although police have been unable to determine how or why he died, there was no evidence of foul play in his death.
