Details: Curtis Watson was convicted of the murder of nineteen-year-old Timothy Reeves and sentenced to 30 years to life. In August of 1988, he escaped from the Lorton Correctional Complex in Virginia by stealing an officer's keys, and simply driving out of the prison. He then called the Washington Post to boast about his escape. Since then, he has reportedly been seen in the Washington, D.C. area.
Extra Notes: This case was on the April 12, 1989 episode along with two other escapes, Larry Dennis Miller and Joseph Hutchinson.
Results: Captured. Watson was arrested at a Phoenix bus station in November 1995. While on the run, he published a book of poetry and worked with troubled youth. He pleaded guilty to escape and was given five more years to his 30 year sentence. He will not be eligible for release until 2021.
